Privacy and cookies

How we handle your data when you visit the website, book online, contact us or rent a vehicle. In case of discrepancy, the Italian version prevails.

1Data controller

MARVAL S.R.L.S.
Via Giuseppe Verrotti 208/e, 65015 Montesilvano (PE)
VAT and tax code 02196390682
Email: info@mavarent.it · PEC: marval@mypec.eu · Phone +39 085 471 0252

For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, write to info@mavarent.it.

3Online booking and payments

To book online we ask for the data needed for the rental (name, contact details, driving and billing details). We use them to manage the booking and the contract (art. 6.1.b GDPR) and to meet legal obligations (art. 6.1.c), as described in the Rental customers section.

Card payments are handled by Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe Ltd., Ireland): card details go directly to Stripe and are not stored by us. On the booking page:

  • Stripe uses technical tools required for payment and fraud prevention;
  • the date picker is loaded from the jsDelivr service, which receives your IP address;
  • if you use address autocomplete, what you type is sent to Google Maps;
  • your chosen language is remembered in your browser (local storage, technical only);
  • any statistics tools (Google Analytics) are activated only with your consent, which you can refuse or withdraw.

4Enquiries and franchising

If you write, call or message us on WhatsApp, we use your data only to reply. WhatsApp is a Meta service with its own privacy notice.

The form on the Franchising page collects first and last name, email, phone, city of interest and any optional information you choose to give. We use it to get back to you and assess your request together (pre-contractual steps at your request, art. 6.1.b GDPR). It is saved in our management system, sent to our administration's email address and kept for no more than 24 months from the last contact if no business relationship follows.

5Google reviews

The website shows some reviews published on our Google business profile, with the reviewer's name and profile photo as they appear on Google. We copy them to our server through the official access to our profile, so that visitors don't load content from Google. If you wrote a review and don't want it shown on our website, write to us and we'll remove it.

6Rental customers

For rentals we collect: identification and contact details (name, address, date and place of birth, phone, email, billing address), identity document and driving licence, payment details and, during the rental, vehicle location data.

Purposes and legal basis

  • Contractual purposes: entering into and performing the rental contract and related contracts, managing payments, complaints and disputes, improving our services. Providing these data is necessary: without them we cannot enter into the contract.
  • Legal obligations: for example reporting rental data to the Italian State Police (CARGOS system) and tax requirements.
  • Marketing: only with your consent, which is optional and can be withdrawn at any time, to send you commercial communications.

Methods and recipients

Data are processed manually and electronically, with appropriate technical and organisational security measures (access protected by two-step verification, encrypted service passwords, encrypted backups). They may be disclosed, only for the stated purposes, to banks and payment services, persons authorised to process them, providers of technical, accounting, legal and insurance services appointed as processors, and to authorities when required by law.

Retention

For contractual purposes we keep data for the duration of the contract and the following 10 years, unless longer periods are required by disputes, authorities or law. For marketing, for the duration of the relationship and the following 5 years, or until consent is withdrawn.

7Transfers outside the European Union

Our systems are located in the European Union. Some of the providers mentioned above (for example Google, Stripe and Meta) may also process data outside the EU: in these cases transfers take place with the safeguards provided by the GDPR, such as European Commission adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.

8Your rights

At any time you can ask to access, correct or delete your data or restrict its processing, object to processing, receive your data in a readable format (portability) and withdraw any consent given, without affecting processing already carried out. Write to info@mavarent.it or to our certified email marval@mypec.eu: we'll reply within one month.

If you believe your data are not processed correctly, you can lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante).
